Call flow warnings for missing or unverified numbers
Your call flow's keyword and auto-reply settings now warn you when replies won't go out, either because the call flow has no number assigned or because some of its numbers aren't verified for texting. Each warning explains the problem and gives you a direct way to fix it.
You'll find these warnings in the keyword and auto-reply settings on any call flow.
When no number is assigned
Keywords and auto-replies are triggered by texts sent to a number. If your call flow doesn't have a number yet, there's nothing for customers to text, so your replies won't trigger.
The warning tells you this and gives you two ways to fix it:
- Assign a number you already own to the call flow.
- Buy a number if you need a new one.
Once a number is assigned, the warning goes away. Keep in mind the number still needs to be verified for texting before replies can send.
When some numbers aren't verified
A call flow can have several numbers assigned. Keywords and auto-replies only send from numbers that are verified for texting, so if some of your numbers aren't verified, texts to those numbers won't get a reply.
The warning shows how many are affected, for example: "2 of 5 numbers assigned to this call flow aren't verified." It lists those numbers and includes a Review numbers link so you can see each one's status and start or finish verification.
Local numbers need 10DLC registration, and toll-free numbers need toll-free verification. Once every number is approved, the warning clears on its own.
If both issues apply
You'll see the no-number warning first, since a number has to be assigned before verification matters. After you assign a number, any verification warnings will appear.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Will texts to my verified numbers still get replies?
A: Yes. Verified numbers on the call flow keep sending keyword and auto-replies as usual. Only the unverified numbers are affected.
Q: Can I still save my keywords and auto-replies while a warning is showing?
A: Yes. You can set them up now, and they'll start working once the call flow has a verified number.
Q: Where do I verify a number?
A: Use the link in the warning, or see our guides to registering a local number and verifying a toll-free number for texting.
