Integrating your 800.com phone numbers with your BigCommerce store is a great way to track call activity tied directly to your online customers. Whether you're monitoring sales calls, customer service inquiries, or marketing campaigns, this setup allows you to better understand which efforts are driving phone interactions.
Follow the steps below to connect 800.com with your BigCommerce store:
Step 1: Log In to Your 800.com Account
- Go to 800.com and log in.
- From your dashboard, navigate to the Numbers section.
- Choose the number you'd like to track and click on Edit or Settings.
Step 2: Create a Tracking Number for BigCommerce
- Click Add Number and choose a new number or use an existing one.
- Under Forwarding Settings, enter the phone number where you'd like incoming calls directed (e.g., your main customer service line).
- Name your number something like "BigCommerce Store" to easily identify it.
Step 3: Add Your Tracking Number to BigCommerce
To display your 800.com number on your BigCommerce store:
- Log in to your BigCommerce admin panel.
- Go to Storefront > Web Pages.
- Choose the page where you want your number to appear (commonly the header, footer, or Contact Us page).
- Paste your 800.com tracking number in the desired location.
- For headers and footers, navigate to Storefront > My Themes > Edit HTML/CSS, and insert your number where appropriate.
Step 4: Track Call Activity
Once the tracking number is live on your BigCommerce store, all calls to that number will be logged in your 800.com dashboard.
You’ll be able to:
- View call logs, timestamps, and durations
- Record calls (if enabled)
- Attribute calls to your BigCommerce traffic
Optional: Use Dynamic Number Insertion (DNI)
For more advanced tracking, you can implement Dynamic Number Insertion (DNI) with a script to change your phone number on the website based on traffic sources—great for seeing if a call came from organic search, paid ads, email, etc.
To set this up, contact 800.com support for help implementing DNI with BigCommerce.
